Hotel information

sonestaLogoThe conference hotel for ScienceOnline Oceans will be the Sonesta Bayfront in Coconut Grove, a beautiful hotel in one of Miami’s most fun neighborhoods. We have reserved a group of rooms which will be available to you at a reduced group rate of $169/night.

Some rooms have different views, others have balconies. Both one bed (king) and two bed rooms are available, at least until they fill up, so choose your room type carefully!  For those of you arriving early for workshops or staying late for field trips, there are a limited number of reduced group rate rooms available on Thursday, October 10th and Sunday, October 13th as well.

To reserve your room, which we strongly recommend that you do quickly to make sure that the room type you want is available, please follow these instructions:

To book online:
Go to the hotel website. In the upper left, select the dates you’ll be staying (remember to consider the optional Friday early afternoon workshops and optional all-day Sunday field trips when making this decision). Click “group code”, enter “0321SCIENC”, and click “check availability and rates”. Then just select your room from the list of available options.

To book by phone:
Call 1-800-Sonesta, and be sure to reference the Coconut Grove location. Tell them that you’re coming for ScienceOnline Oceans, and give the booking agent the same group code “0321SCIENC”

As past ScienceOnline attendees know, the central social gathering place for the conference is the hotel bar. After the opening social Friday night, we’ll head back there, and we’ll do the same after group dinners Saturday night. The Sonesta has a rooftop pool bar overlooking the ocean!

Yes, I said "rooftop pool bar overlooking the ocean"
